Rubber Compounds

  1. NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber):

    • Properties: NBR is renowned for its excellent resistance to oils, fuels, and chemicals. It also offers good mechanical strength and abrasion resistance. However, it has limited resistance to ozone and UV light.

    • Applications: Commonly used in automotive seals, gaskets, fuel system components, and oil seals due to its ability to withstand harsh chemical environments.

  2. EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer):

    • Properties: EPDM rubber excels in weather resistance, including ozone, UV, and high temperatures. It maintains flexibility and durability in extreme conditions. EPDM also has good electrical insulating properties.

    • Applications: Ideal for outdoor seals, weather stripping, roofing membranes, and automotive gaskets. Its resistance to aging makes it suitable for long-term applications.

  3. NR (Natural Rubber):

    • Properties: Natural rubber offers high tensile strength, resilience, and elasticity. It has excellent abrasion resistance and flexibility but can be susceptible to degradation from ozone, UV rays, and oils.

    • Applications: Used in products requiring high elasticity and shock absorption, such as tires, conveyor belts, and shock mounts.

  4. FKM (Fluoroelastomer):

    • Properties: FKM provides outstanding chemical resistance, high-temperature stability, and resistance to oils and fuels. It maintains its properties in extreme temperatures and harsh chemical environments.

    • Applications: Commonly used in high-performance seals, gaskets, and O-rings in industries such as aerospace, automotive, and chemical processing where durability under extreme conditions is essential.

  5. Silicone Rubber:

    • Properties: Silicone rubber is known for its flexibility over a wide temperature range, from -100°C to +300°C. It also offers excellent resistance to UV, ozone, and weathering, and has good electrical insulating properties.

    • Applications: Frequently used in medical devices, food processing equipment, and high-temperature applications such as oven seals and gaskets due to its stability and inertness.
